The bench with its comfortable rounded corners is placed to catch the morning sun. It is standing on an area of random stone paving set in gravel which is planted up with creeping thymes, lavender and other scented plants.

On the wall grows Rosa alba semi-plena 'Mme Legras de St Germain', Jasmine affine, and clematis 'Constance', 'Perle d'Azur' and 'Gravetye Beauty'. It is separated from the Hot Walk by a graceful clump of bamboo, Thamnocalamus 'Kew Beauty' (left) and the elegant silvery Salix exigua (right).
